Everything looked to be in order from what we could tell, but... the temperature spiked the further we walked into the room. At first it was pretty subtle, but then it got worse. Didn't matter where we went, either, it seemed to come and go at random.

That was my first guess... But I'm worried it means whatever evidence there is will be reduced to ashes, by the time we find it.
