Depends on the sort you go to. There’s normally dancing, and lots of thinly veiled sizing up of people and nobility chattering away. Good place to go if you want to hear the latest movements in the area, according to the rich and powerful. Everyone on their best behaviour, that sort of thing.
Otherwise it’s non-nobility and far more relaxed. But no one usually eats dirt. In a literal sense.
