[Takes a seat in a chair across from Sieghart, putting his shoes on the table.]

One person dead.

[Sieghart lies on a swooning couch with his eyes closed. They flutter open when Bradley speaks, and he hums.]

Where do you suppose she went?

[battling]

The waitin' room? Ain't like this place's got admissions.

[ercnerd]

It'd be good if there's a lot of food there.

[After so many weeks of baby food, he wishes only the tastiest treats for the departed.

He cants his head slightly to put Bradley in his sights.]

How'd you sleep last night?

[battling]

No more applesauce and animal crackers.

[bad. horrible. It's been a year and he still hates that food.]

Passed out. Did ya get locked somewhere?

[ercnerd]

[Nobody deserves to be haunted by animal crackers.]

I was in my room. Where were you?

[battling]

Armory. Didn't think we'd get locked in.

[Seasons like: what do you mean you don't get herded into your room?]

[ercnerd]

What were you doing over there so late? . . . Wait, who else was with you?

[battling]

I wanted t' look at the guns.

. . . Mask must be Aikawa, but who's the outlaw?

I did, but you can't expect me to remember everything I read in a hurry.

So did the three of you play with guns until it was time to sleep?

Talked 'bout his one week long murder round.

[ercnerd]

Yeah, his went fast. People were dyin' every night.

[ercnerd]

[He sits up, swinging a leg over the edge of the couch partway.]

How did they stop it?

[battling]

Voted for the person who put everybody in a cycle.

[ercnerd]

The culprit was among them?

[battling]

Sounded more like the overseer of the dead.

[ercnerd]

[Their bear was evil . . . ]

So they used the votes against the cause . . .

Week 0: Saturday

[battling]

[So he is here, in the temporary prison, or wherever he has been put.]

It's later. Can ya explain?

[ercnerd]

[Here he is. Sieghart sits hunched on the lower bunk, hands twined between his knees. He lifts his head at Bradley's entrance.]

. . . I was approached by a shadow at the beginning of the week. It wouldn't be wrong to say that I was influenced by its presence.

[battling]

So that's how it goes here, huh? When locations started openin' up?

Did ya feel it's influence all week?

[ercnerd]

[He pauses.]

Yeah. It claimed that it'll help ensure Mari's safety, so I ended up taking it into myself.

[battling]

What made ya sure it would keep its end of the bargain?

[ercnerd]

Nothing. I didn't believe what it was promising me. That didn't stop it from worming its way inside.

[battling]

[ MAN... ]

Fuck. That's how this works? Some shadowy figure approaches and compels you to kill?

[ercnerd]

Guess so.

I felt it leave me at the end of the trial. That means it'll probably latch onto someone else next week.

[battling]

Somethin' like the compelled people at the school maybe. I'll keep an eye out.

[ercnerd]

You do that.

Assuming I end up on another side of all this, I'll have my eyes open there for everything else.

[battling]

Write when ya can, yeah? Dunno how early they're gonna let us connect.

[Seasons... it was so late.]

[ercnerd]

If I can, I will.

I have a sturdy soul. Even if something goes wrong and it gets lost elsewhere, it'll find its way to where it needs to go. You can expect to hear from me.

[He laughs]
